How old are the kittens when they can come home?
Twelve weeks at the earliest, and never sooner. Between eight and twelve weeks a kitten learns bite inhibition, litter habits and how to read other cats — lessons only its mother and littermates can teach. Leaving early is the single most common cause of behavioural problems later on. By twelve weeks yours will be fully weaned, litter-trained, vaccinated and microchipped.
How do I reserve a kitten?
Choose your kitten, send an adoption enquiry through the site, and we will arrange a short video call so you can meet them and ask anything you like. If it feels right on both sides, a $100 deposit holds that kitten for you and takes them off the site immediately. The balance is due before they travel.
Can I visit before deciding?
Yes — visits are welcome by appointment once the kittens are past six weeks and have had their first vaccination. If you are too far to travel, we do a live video call instead and will happily walk the camera around, show you the parents and answer everything on the spot.
Do you rehome to families with young children?
Yes, with a conversation first. Some of our kittens are unflappable and some are more sensitive, and we will steer you towards the right one. Bobby, for example, is exceptionally patient with children; Lisa prefers a calmer household. We would rather match honestly than make a sale.
Can I adopt Jimmy and Lily separately?
We would strongly prefer not to. They are genuinely bonded — they sleep as one shape and get visibly distressed apart. We offer a reduced price for the pair to make taking both easier. If you can only take one, Lily is the sibling better able to settle alone, but she will need a great deal of your time.
What vaccinations and health checks are done before they leave?
Every kitten is examined by our vet at least three times before they go home. They receive age-appropriate FVRCP vaccinations with a signed record card, deworming at four, six and eight weeks, a microchip registered in your name, and a health certificate dated within 72 hours of travel. Parents are screened for the conditions relevant to their breed.
What does the health guarantee actually cover?
One year of written cover against congenital and hereditary defects that materially affect your kitten's quality of life. If a covered condition is diagnosed by a licensed vet within that year, we will either refund the purchase price or replace the kitten from a future litter — your choice. It does not cover accidents, parasites acquired after collection, or conditions arising from neglect.
Are Scottish Folds healthy? I have read worrying things.
The concern is real and worth taking seriously. Folded ears come from a cartilage mutation, and pairing two folded-ear cats dramatically raises the risk of painful skeletal disease. We never do it. Tessy's mother is a straight-eared queen, both parents are health-screened, and Tessy's joints have been checked by our vet at every single visit.
Are the kittens spayed or neutered before they leave?
No — at twelve weeks they are still too young for us to do it responsibly. Your adoption contract asks you to have it done between four and six months and to send us confirmation. Your own vet will advise on exact timing based on your kitten's growth.
What are they eating, and should I change it?
A mix of high-protein wet food three times a day with kitten kibble available between meals. We send you enough of their current food for the first few days. If you want to switch brands, do it gradually over a week — an abrupt change on top of the stress of moving house is a reliable way to cause an upset stomach.
How much is the deposit and is it refundable?
The deposit is $100 and it comes off the total price. It is refundable in full if we cancel for any reason, or if a vet identifies a health problem before your kitten travels. It is not refundable if you simply change your mind, because by then we have turned other families away.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Everything is confirmed by email with a receipt. We never ask for payment in gift cards or cryptocurrency — if anyone claiming to be us does, it is not us.
When is the balance due?
At least 48 hours before your kitten travels or is collected. That gives the payment time to clear and lets us book the vet's final health check and travel certificate with confidence.
Is the price really the full price?
Yes. $400 covers the kitten, all vaccinations and vet visits to date, deworming, the microchip and its registration, the health guarantee and the starter pack. The only thing that can be added is travel, if you need us to arrange a flight nanny or courier.
How do the kittens travel to me?
Three options. You collect in person, which we always prefer. We drive to you, within a reasonable radius, for a fuel contribution. Or we book a professional flight nanny who carries your kitten in the cabin, never in cargo, and hands them to you at arrivals. We will quote exactly before you commit.
Do you ship kittens in cargo?
Never. Cargo holds are loud, temperature-variable and frightening, and we will not put a twelve-week-old kitten through it. Cabin travel with a nanny costs more, and it is the only air option we offer.
What paperwork travels with my kitten?
A signed health certificate dated within 72 hours of travel, the vaccination record card, the microchip registration transferred into your name, a copy of the adoption contract and health guarantee, and a one-page care sheet specific to your kitten.
What should I have ready before my kitten arrives?
A litter tray with the same litter type we use, food and water bowls kept apart from the tray, a scratching post, a carrier, and one quiet room with a door that closes. That last one matters most — a whole house at once is overwhelming for a kitten who has just left everything they know.
How long until my kitten settles in?
Expect hiding for the first day or two, cautious exploring by day three, and something close to normal within a fortnight. Keep them in one room at first, sit on the floor and let them approach you rather than reaching for them, and resist inviting people over to meet them for the first week.
What if it does not work out?
Call us. Whatever the reason, at any point in your cat's life, we will take them back rather than see them go to a shelter or be passed on to a stranger. That commitment does not expire and it is written into your contract.
Do you stay in touch after adoption?
As much or as little as you want. Most families send photos for years and we love it. Practically, you have lifetime access to us by email or phone for any question about health, behaviour, food or grooming — we would far rather you ask than guess.
